About Us

McDiarmid Lumber is celebrating its 80th anniversary in 2007. We are one of the largest home improvement, building materials and lumber companies in Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Northwestern Ontario and the only family-owned and locally-operated Home Centres.

The company employs approximately 600 people in over 750,000 square feet of retail, manufacturing, distribution and office space spanning three provinces.

McDiarmid Lumber Home Centres are strategically located throughout Winnipeg, the "cottage country" of Keewatin, Ontario and Yorkton, Saskatchewan. These stores service the "Do it Yourself" and contractor market, providing a large variety of hardware, lumber and building materials.

We also offer our customers in-house drafting and blueprinting services, utilizing the latest technology in computerized designs. This service is located at the 600 Pembina Highway store in Winnipeg and provides service and support to all locations.

The in-house experts at McDiarmid Lumber will help you design your new home, from the ground up. Using the latest in Autocad drafting technology, they'll plan your home from start to finish, either from your sketches or from our extensive library. Not only will McDiarmid Lumber provide superior building materials for the project, our in-house experts can provide the complete build in a "Ready to Move" form. This means that McDiarmid can construct your home at our site and ship it to your chosen location.

Contractor/Professional Builders

Contractors are a large and important part of our business. As professionals in the building industry, they consume a large volume of our product on an ongoing basis. Because of their special needs, contractors are served by a Contractor Sales group which is based out of our Pembina Highway store, but has a presence in every retail location.

Distribution

The Winnipeg Distribution Centre is located on the Perimeter Highway one mile north of McGillivray Boulevard. This is the central hub for McDiarmid Lumber, with the majority of product ordered for the company being received at this Distribution Centre.

The Prince Albert (PA) Distribution Centre is positioned to support our First Nations/Contractor sales in northern Saskatchewan.
