A Proud History
Although they didn’t know it at the time, the people of Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Northwestern Ontario received a Christmas present on December 25, 1882, for that was the day John Stewart McDiarmid was born. McDiarmid would go on to establish, in 1927, the McDiarmid Lumber Company, and the construction materials that moved through his doors would help build the Great Canadian West.
Today, McDiarmid is so much more than a lumber store.
